Eric Demetric Dickerson is a former professional American footballer who has returned to the National Football Federation for 11 seasons. Dickerson plays college football for the Southern Methodist University Mustangs and is recognized as an All-American. He was selected in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft and competed professionally for the NFL Los Angeles Rams, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders and Atlanta Falcons. During his NFL career, he traveled over 13,000 yards. He holds the NFL's one-season fast running record at 2,105 yards, set in 1984. Dickerson was inducted into the Professional Football Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2019, he was named to the Memorial Team .100 years of all time for the NFL. He wore prescription glasses throughout his career due to myopia.
